Days Gone By, with Paul Atterbury

This study day will include stories from the world of antiques and days gone by, how people lived and what they used in the past, where and how they travelled, and discovering antiques.  

In the afternoon, there will be a “Show and Tell” session, in which those attending can bring along their favourite items for appraisal and enlightenment (not valuation).

Art in the design and development of garden, with particular reference to the work of Gertrude Jekyll and Edwin Lutyens, Formal and Informal Gardens, and 20th C Women Gardeners. 

A full day of lectures, including buffet lunch, at the Gardeners Hall, St Leonards Road, Windsor.

Silver Day of Special Interest at The Gardener's Hall, St Leonards Road Windsor

We are holding a day of special interest on Thursday 30th March 2017 when our guest lecturer will be Ian Pickford of the Antiques Road Show. Ian will be talking to us about Antique Silver. Ian Pickford is one of the foremost authorities in the United Kingdom on Period English Silver, and is well known to the public as one of the leading Antique Silver Experts on television. Ian has authored, contributed to and edited many of the standard reference books on English Silver, and is a sought after lecturer and speaker on the subject.

The session will include the opportunity for Members and Guests to bring an item for assessment and valuation.

A Study Day held at Gardeners' Hall, Windsor, to be presented by Eric Knowles of Antiques Road Show fame. Eric will take us through the changes in china and porcelain in their most rapidly developing period, and allow us all to know a little more about this fascinating area.

The will be the opportunity for Members and Guests to bring items from their own collections for a show and tell session by Eric, including identification and valuation.
