The Arts Society Windsor was founded in 1995 as the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Decorative and Fine Arts Society. Over time, as membership numbers increased, two societies were formed, an Afternoon and an Evening Arts Society, which both met in Old Windsor on the 3rd Wednesday of the month. During 2019-20, it became apparent that in order to share increasing costs and benefit from economies of scale, it would be necessary to consider rejoining. Following an extensive consultation exercise, our members voted almost unanimously to merge in November 2020.

We are based in Old Windsor, Berkshire with a thriving and lively current membership of 85. We are a very friendly society and new members are guaranteed a very warm welcome. We currently have no waiting lists!

The Society belongs to The Arts Society (formerly NADFAS, the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies) the leading arts charity established for furthering knowledge and appreciation of the arts.  There are over 360 Societies nationwide, with over 92,000 members and branches in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Joining The Arts Society is a great way to learn about a wide range of subjects devoted to exploring the endless types of arts of our world. The topics include fine art and artists, architecture and buildings, social history, furniture, glassware, metalwork and jewellery, photography, textiles, ceramics, music and more.

The Society belongs to Chiltern Hills Area group of 'The Arts Society'.
